Our cabins are situated along the southern reaches of the Fox Valley, located in North Central Illinois. The region is home to the towns of Ottawa, Peru, and North Utica, which are about 2 hours south of downtown Chicago. While the region is considered part of the Chicago metropolitan statistical area, it offers a completely unique atmosphere of wilderness, state parks, and breathtaking scenery.
LaSalle County is home to about 113,924 residents, and it has a history tracing back to 1831 when French explorers entered the area. In 1858, Ottawa, the county seat of LaSalle County, was home to the famous Lincoln-Douglas debates, and the town continues to boast a number of historical sites related to the nation’s 16th president.
