Finding the Perfect Pet-Friendly Cabin
Each of our four specially designed cabins is perfect for you and your canine companion with plenty of space and convenient amenities. They are specially reserved for guests with dogs and are the last to fill, that way a vacancy is much more likely, but we still highly recommend booking well in advance!
Mother-in-Law Cabin: A bit further away than the other cabins, this one is the ideal stay for a quiet and private getaway. Plus, it has enough space for a couple or small family with a full kitchen, outdoor firepit and grill, and a covered porch with a swing for lazy afternoons spent relaxing with your pet.
Commanche Cabin: A spacious studio with plenty of yard space and a convenient location, this cabin has everything you need for a great stay. It includes everything offered in our Mother-in-Law Cabin with the addition of a 2-person whirlpool tub for serene relaxation. There are plenty of walking paths nearby and lots of property to explore, so take your faithful friend for a walk and take in the beautiful scenery.
Winnebago Cabin: Located near the Commanche and Zonta cabins, it offers similar amenities and a charming aesthetic with plenty of room for your pets to run around and serene wooded surroundings.
Zonta Cabin: The closest cabin to our main office, it’s conveniently located just a quick walk away so you can grab a few movies from our collection or purchase some goodies! In addition, it’s just outside the large yard at the center of our property with tons of space for rover to stretch its legs and get out some energy.

Unleash Adventure with Dog-Friendly Activities
Adventure is out there, and you can see it all with a selection of enjoyable activities for both you and your pet. There are plenty of outdoor spaces at Kishauwau Cabins and the surrounding area that are just perfect for tossing a ball or frisbee around, with some nearby dog parks that we recommend: McPhedran Park, Wiggley Field, and River Run Dog Park are all lovely locations with tons of space and less than 30-minutes drive from our property.
One of our primary attractions, Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks, have miles and miles of hiking trails that your dog is sure to love with a wide variety of scenery, towering waterfalls, and gorgeous woodlands. Pack some water and snacks, bring a leash, and make sure to check which trails allow dogs before you arrive for the best experience at these truly unforgettable State Parks. Also, check out Kayak Starved Rock if you have an adventurous dog who would love to get out on the water with you during the warm months!
